🫐 Blueberry Chia Jam (Healthy, No Pectin)
A naturally sweet, thick, and antioxidant-rich jam made with just a few wholesome ingredients. No refined sugar, no pectin — chia seeds do all the thickening naturally. Perfect for toast, yogurt bowls, oatmeal, or healthy desserts.
🛒 Ingredients
-
2 cups fresh or frozen blueberries
-
1–2 tablespoons honey or maple syrup (adjust to taste)
-
1 tablespoon lemon juice
-
2 tablespoons chia seeds
-
1 teaspoon lemon zest (optional, for brightness)
👩🍳 Instructions
1️⃣ Cook the blueberries
Add blueberries to a small saucepan over medium heat. Cook for 5–8 minutes, stirring occasionally, until they soften and start to burst.
2️⃣ Mash
Use a fork or potato masher to mash to your desired texture (smooth or chunky).
3️⃣ Sweeten & brighten
Stir in honey (or maple syrup) and lemon juice.
4️⃣ Add chia seeds
Remove from heat and stir in chia seeds. Mix well.
5️⃣ Thicken
Let sit for 10–15 minutes. The chia seeds will absorb liquid and thicken the jam naturally.
6️⃣ Cool & store
Transfer to a jar and refrigerate. It will continue to thicken as it cools.
