- Water: 200 ml (0.85 cup), lukewarm
- Sugar: 25 g (2 tbsp)
- Yeast: 3 g (1 tsp)
- Bread Flour/Wheat Flour: 300 g (2 cups)
- Salt: 3 g (1/2 tsp)
- Olive Oil: 20 g (2 tbsp)
Instructions:
- Activate the Yeast:
- In a small bowl, mix lukewarm water with sugar and yeast.
- Let it sit for 5-10 minutes until frothy.
- Make the Dough:
- In a large mixing bowl, combine flour and salt.
- Gradually add the yeast mixture to the dry ingredients while mixing.
- Add the olive oil and knead the dough for about 8-10 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic.
- Let the Dough Rise:
- Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover with a damp cloth,
- and let it rise in a warm place for 1-2 hours or until it doubles in size.
- Shape the Dough:
- Once risen, punch down the dough and shape it into a loaf or rolls.
- Place it on a baking tray lined with parchment paper or in a greased loaf pan.
- Cover and let it rise again for 30-45 minutes.
- Bake the Bread:
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the bread is golden
- brown and sounds hollow when tapped on the bottom.
- Cool and Serve:
- Let the bread cool on a wire rack before slicing.
