🍋 Mediterranean Ginger Water (Anti-Inflammatory Detox Drink)

Serves: 4 (about 1 liter)
Prep time: 10 minutes
Infuse time: 30–60 minutes (or overnight for stronger flavor)


🧂 Ingredients

  • 1 liter (4 cups) filtered water

  • 2–3 inches (5–7 cm) fresh ginger root, thinly sliced

  • 1 small lemon, sliced

  • 1 tbsp raw honey (optional, for natural sweetness)

  • A few fresh mint leaves (Mediterranean touch 🌿)

  • Optional add-ins:

    • ½ tsp ground turmeric (extra anti-inflammatory)

    • 1 small cinnamon stick (for blood sugar balance)


🔥 Instructions

  1. Boil the water in a saucepan.

  2. Add the sliced ginger and (if using) cinnamon or turmeric.

  3. Simmer gently for 10–15 minutes to extract the flavor and active compounds.

  4. Remove from heat, add lemon slices and mint, and let steep for another 15–20 minutes.

  5. Strain into a jug or bottle.

  6. Sweeten lightly with honey if desired.

  7. Serve warm or chilled over ice.
