Ingredients

For the dough

  • 4 cups (480g) all-purpose flour

  • 1 cup (220g) plain yogurt (Greek or regular)

  • 1 cup (200ml) water

  • 1 packet (10g) baking powder

  • 1 teaspoon (8g) salt

  • 1 tablespoon (10ml) vegetable oil or olive oil

Optional Mediterranean additions

  • 1 tbsp olive oil + 1 clove garlic (for brushing)

  • Fresh herbs (oregano, parsley, thyme)

  • A sprinkle of sesame or nigella seeds

🍽️ Instructions

1️⃣ Make the dough

  1. In a large bowl, add flour, salt, and baking powder.

  2. Add yogurt, water, and oil.

  3. Mix with a spoon, then knead by hand for 2–3 minutes
→ The dough should be soft, smooth, and slightly sticky.

(If too dry, add 1–2 tbsp water. If too sticky, sprinkle a little flour.)

2️⃣ Rest (optional but helpful)

Let the dough rest 5 minutes — this makes the flatbreads softer.

3️⃣ Shape the flatbreads

  1. Divide dough into 10–12 equal balls.

  2. Roll each ball into a thin circle (about 7–8 inches).

4️⃣ Cook on the stovetop

  1. Heat a nonstick skillet over medium–high heat.

  2. Place one flatbread into the dry pan.

  3. Cook 1–2 minutes until bubbles form and golden spots appear.

  4. Flip and cook 1 more minute.

  5. Brush with olive oil or garlic butter if desired.

Repeat for all flatbreads.

5️⃣ Serve

These are amazing with:

  • Hummus

  • Tzatziki

  • Feta + olives

  • Chicken shawarma

  • Grilled veggies

  • Soups & stews

Soft, flexible, and perfect for wraps!
