Ingredients (2 servings)

Base

  • 2 medium apples, peeled and chopped

  • 1 tbsp olive oil or 1 tsp butter

  • 2 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder

  • 2–3 tbsp honey or maple syrup (optional — adjust to taste)

  • ⅓ cup water or milk (regular or almond)

  • ½ tsp cinnamon

  • ½ tsp vanilla

  • Pinch of salt

Mediterranean-style toppings (optional)

  • Crushed walnuts or pistachios

  • Greek yogurt

  • Pomegranate seeds

  • A drizzle of olive oil or honey

  • Dates or raisins chopped

🍽️ Instructions

1️⃣ Cook the apples

  1. Heat olive oil/butter in a pan.

  2. Add chopped apples + cinnamon + pinch of salt.

  3. Cook on medium heat for 3–4 minutes, until softened.

2️⃣ Add cocoa mixture

In a small bowl mix:

  • Cocoa powder

  • Water/milk

  • Honey (or leave out for sugar-free)

  • Vanilla

Stir until smooth.

Pour this over the apples.

3️⃣ Simmer

Cook everything together for 3–5 minutes, stirring often, until:

  • The apples soften

  • The sauce thickens into a chocolatey glaze

4️⃣ Serve

Serve warm in a bowl and top with:

  • Nuts

  • Greek yogurt

  • Pomegranates

  • Olive oil drizzle

  • Extra cocoa dusting

You’ll get a deep chocolate flavor + soft caramelized apples — very Mediterranean and naturally sweet.
