🛒 Ingredients

For the Apple Filling:

  • 2 medium apples (peeled & diced)
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • ½ tsp nutmeg (optional)
  • 1 tsp lemon juice

For the Batter:

  • 1½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp cinnamon
  • ⅓ cup sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • ½ cup milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 tbsp melted butter

For the Glaze:

  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2–3 tbsp milk
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract

👩‍🍳 Instructions

1. Cook the Apples

In a pan, melt butter and add diced apples, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and lemon juice.
Cook for 5–7 minutes until soft and slightly caramelized. Let cool.

2. Make the Batter

In a bowl, whisk flour, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, and sugar.
In another bowl, mix eggs, milk, vanilla, and melted butter.
Combine wet and dry ingredients until just mixed (don’t overmix).

3. Fold in Apples

Gently fold the cooled apple mixture into the batter.

4. Bake

  • Preheat oven to 200°C (400°F)
  • Line a baking tray with parchment paper
  • Drop spoonfuls of batter into rough fritter shapes
  • Bake for 12–15 minutes until golden

5. Glaze & Finish

  • Mix glaze ingredients until smooth
  • Brush or drizzle over warm fritters
  • Optional: Broil for 1–2 minutes for a slightly crisp top

💡 Tips for Best Results

  • Use firm apples like Granny Smith or Fuji
  • Keep the batter thick for that classic fritter texture
  • Broiling at the end gives a closer “fried” finish

❓ Q & A

Q: Can I air-fry these?
Yes! Air fry at 180°C for about 8–10 minutes.

Q: Can I make them healthier?
You can reduce sugar or use whole wheat flour, but texture will be slightly denser.

Q: Why are my fritters flat?
The batter may be too thin—add a bit more flour.
