🍎🍫 JUST APPLES & COCOA! (Mediterranean-Inspired Dessert Pudding)

A naturally sweet, rich, chocolate-apple crema similar to a rustic Mediterranean fruit paste dessert.

📝 Ingredients (2-ingredient base)

  • 2 large apples (any variety, Mediterranean types include Golden, Pink Lady, or Granny Smith)

  • 2–3 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder

No sugar needed — the apples provide natural sweetness.


🍳 Instructions

1. Prepare the Apples

  1. Peel and core the apples.

  2. Cut into small chunks for faster cooking.


2. Cook the Apples

  1. Add apples to a small pot.

  2. Add 2–3 tbsp water just to prevent sticking (still counts as no added ingredients).

  3. Cook over medium heat, covered, for 8–10 minutes, until soft and mashable.


3. Mash & Mix

  1. Mash the apples into a smooth purée with a fork or blender.

  2. Add cocoa powder and mix thoroughly until creamy.

  3. Taste and adjust cocoa for richness.


4. Chill or Serve Warm

  • Serve warm like chocolate apple pudding,
    or

  • Chill 1 hour for a thicker, mousse-like texture.


🍽️ Mediterranean Touches (Optional, without adding new ingredients)

These use technique only, not ingredients:

✔ Slow-reduce

Simmer the mashed mixture longer to concentrate sweetness (common in Greek & Middle Eastern fruit pastes).

✔ Grilled Apple Base

Before cooking, grill or pan-sear the apple slices to caramelize them — very Mediterranean in flavor style.

✔ Cocoa Dust Finish

Dust the top with a pinch of cocoa and swirl into a decorative pattern, as done with chocolate tahini sauces.
