Crispy Chicken Tenders with Dipping Sauce

For Chicken Tenders:

500 g (1 lb) chicken breast, cut into strips

1 cup buttermilk (or ½ cup yogurt + ½ cup milk)

1 tsp garlic powder

1 tsp onion powder

1 tsp paprika

½ tsp black pepper

1 tsp salt
For Coating:

1 cup all-purpose flour

1 cup breadcrumbs (panko for extra crunch)

½ cup cornstarch

1 tsp paprika

½ tsp cayenne pepper (optional, for heat)

1 tsp salt

2 eggs, beaten
For Frying:

Oil for deep frying (vegetable or canola)
Dipping Sauce (Honey Mustard Style):

3 tbsp mayonnaise
-
2 tbsp honey
-
2 tbsp Dijon mustard (or regular mustard)

1 tsp lemon juice

Step 1: Marinate Chicken

In a bowl, mix buttermilk, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.

Add chicken strips, coat well, cover, and marinate for at least 1 hour (overnight is best).
Step 2: Prepare Coating

In one bowl, whisk the eggs.

In another bowl, mix flour, breadcrumbs, cornstarch, paprika, cayenne, and salt.
Step 3: Coat the Chicken

Remove chicken from marinade.

Dip each strip into flour mixture → egg wash → flour mixture again (double coating makes them extra crispy).
Step 4: Fry

Heat oil in a deep pan to 175°C (350°F).

Fry chicken strips in batches for 5–6 minutes, until golden brown and fully cooked inside.

Place on paper towels to drain excess oil.
Step 5: Make Dipping Sauce

Mix mayonnaise, honey, mustard, and lemon juice in a small bowl.
