🐟 Garlic Butter Cod Strips with Cilantro Lime Sauce

For the Cod Strips

500 g cod fillets, cut into strips

2 tbsp olive oil

2 tbsp butter

4 cloves garlic, minced

1 tsp paprika

1 tsp garlic powder

½ tsp cumin (Mediterranean depth)

½ tsp black pepper
-
Salt to taste

Zest of 1 lime
-
Juice of ½ lime
For the Cilantro Lime Sauce

½ cup Greek yogurt (or light mayonnaise)

1 tbsp olive oil
-
1 small garlic clove, grated
-
¼ cup cilantro, finely chopped
-
Juice of 1 lime
-
½ tsp honey (balances acidity)

Salt & pepper to taste
For Garnish

Extra cilantro

Lime wedges

Drizzle of olive oil
⭐ Instructions
1. Prep the cod
Pat cod strips dry very well (important for browning).
Season with:

garlic powder

cumin
-
black pepper
-
salt
-
lime zest
Set aside.
2. Make the Cilantro Lime Sauce
In a bowl, whisk together:

Greek yogurt
-
olive oil
-
garlic
-
cilantro
-
lime juice
-
honey
-
salt & pepper
Refrigerate so the flavors deepen.
3. Cook the Cod Strips

Heat 2 tbsp olive oil in a pan over medium-high.

Add cod strips (do not overcrowd).

Sear 2–3 minutes per side until lightly golden.

Lower heat → add 2 tbsp butter + minced garlic.

Spoon the garlic butter over the cod as it finishes cooking.

Add a squeeze of lime at the end.
Cod should stay tender and flaky.

Plate the cod strips and drizzle generously with cilantro lime sauce.
