🥔🥓 Green Bean, Potato & Bacon Bake

A hearty, comforting casserole with tender potatoes, crisp bacon, and flavorful green beans baked in a creamy, cheesy sauce. Perfect as a side dish or even a main meal.

🛒 Ingredients

  • 3 cups green beans (fresh or frozen)

  • 3 medium potatoes, peeled and diced

  • 6 slices bacon, chopped

  • 1 small onion, diced

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

  • ½ cup heavy cream or milk

  • 2 tbsp butter

  • ½ tsp salt

  • ½ tsp black pepper

  • ½ tsp paprika (optional)


👨‍🍳 Instructions

1️⃣ Preheat Oven

  • Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F).

  • Grease a baking dish with butter.


2️⃣ Cook the Bacon

  1. In a skillet over medium heat, cook the chopped bacon until crispy.

  2. Remove bacon and place on paper towels.

  3. Leave a little bacon fat in the pan for flavor.


3️⃣ Sauté Onion & Garlic

  • In the same skillet, sauté onion for about 3 minutes.

  • Add garlic and cook 30 seconds.


4️⃣ Prepare the Vegetables

  • Boil diced potatoes for 5–7 minutes until slightly tender (not fully cooked).

  • Drain well.


5️⃣ Assemble the Bake

In the baking dish combine:

  • potatoes

  • green beans

  • cooked bacon

  • onion & garlic mixture

Pour heavy cream over the mixture.
Sprinkle cheddar cheese, salt, pepper, and paprika on top.


6️⃣ Bake

  • Bake 35–40 minutes until potatoes are tender and cheese is golden.


🍽 Serve

Let cool 5 minutes before serving.

  • roast chicken

  • grilled steak

  • BBQ dishes


💡 Tip:
For extra flavor, sprinkle parmesan cheese or breadcrumbs on top during the last 10 minutes of baking.
