Cook the Pasta
Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook pasta according to package directions. Reserve ½ cup pasta water, then drain. -
Brown the Sausage
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
Add Italian sausage and cook until browned, breaking it into crumbles. -
Cook Vegetables
Add onion and bell peppers. Cook 4–5 minutes until slightly soft.
Stir in garlic and cook for 30 seconds. -
Deglaze with Wine
Pour in the white wine and simmer 3–4 minutes until slightly reduced. -
Make the Sauce
Add crushed tomatoes, cherry tomatoes, Italian seasoning, and red pepper flakes.
Simmer 8–10 minutes until the sauce thickens. -
Combine Pasta
Add the cooked noodles to the skillet. Toss everything together.
Add a little reserved pasta water if needed to loosen the sauce. -
Finish
Stir in Parmesan cheese and fresh basil. Season with salt and pepper. -
