Lasagna Grilled Cheese

Ingredients:

  • 8 slices of Italian bread
  • 1/2 cup marinara sauce
  • 1 cup ricotta cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 lb ground beef
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 4 tablespoons butter, softened

Directions:

Prepare the Ground Beef:
In a skillet over medium heat, add the olive oil. Once hot, add the ground beef. Cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spoon.
Drain excess fat, season with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning, and set aside.
Prepare the Ricotta Mixture:
In a bowl, combine the ricotta cheese, Parmesan cheese, and a pinch of Italian seasoning.
Mix until well combined.
Assemble the Sandwiches:
Spread butter on one side of each slice of bread.
On the unbuttered side of four slices, layer a spoonful of marinara sauce, the ricotta mixture, a portion of cooked ground beef, and shredded mozzarella.
Top each with another slice of bread, buttered side facing out.
Cook the Sandwiches:
Heat a skillet or griddle over medium heat.
Place the sandwiches in the skillet and cook for 3-4 minutes per side, or until the bread is golden brown and the cheese is melted.
Serve:
Slice each sandwich in half and serve hot with extra marinara sauce for dipping.
