🍞✨ 20-Minute Homemade Mediterranean Bread
📝 Ingredients
3 cups all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon sugar
1 cup warm water
2 tablespoons olive oil (extra-virgin for Mediterranean flavor)
👩🍳 Instructions
1. Prepare the Dough (5 minutes)
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together:
Flour
Baking powder
Salt
Sugar
Add warm water and olive oil.
Stir with a spoon until a shaggy dough forms.
Knead lightly by hand (30–45 seconds) until the dough comes together smoothly.
Do NOT over-knead — this stays quick and easy.
2. Shape (1 minute)
Form the dough into a round or oval loaf.
Or divide into 6 mini flatbreads.
3. Cook or Bake (14 minutes)
You have two Mediterranean methods:
A) Skillet Method (best for Mediterranean-style flatbreads)
Heat a non-stick skillet or cast-iron pan over medium heat.
Lightly oil the surface.
Place the dough (whole or divided) in the pan.
Cook 5–7 minutes per side, until golden and puffed.
B) Oven Method (loaf style)
Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
Place bread on a baking sheet lined with parchment.
Brush with olive oil.
Bake 14–17 minutes, until lightly golden.
