Pizza Topped Potato Waffles

Ingredients

(Serves 2-3)

  • 4 frozen potato waffles (or homemade if preferred)
  • 1/2 cup pizza sauce (store-bought or homemade)
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 cup pepperoni slices (or your favorite pizza toppings: mushrooms, bell peppers, olives, etc.)
  • 1/4 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Fresh basil or parsley (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Prepare the Waffles
Toast the potato waffles in a toaster or oven until they are golden and crispy.
  3. This ensures they hold up well under the toppings.
  4. Add the Toppings
Place the toasted waffles on the prepared baking sheet.
  5. Spread a layer of pizza sauce evenly over each waffle.
  6. Sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese on top, followed by your choice of toppings (e.g., pepperoni, veggies).
  7. Finish with a sprinkle of oregano and garlic powder for extra flavor.
  8. Bake
Bake in the preheated oven for 8-10 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  9. Garnish and Serve
Remove from the oven and let cool for 1-2 minutes. Garnish with fresh basil or parsley if desired.
  10. Serve warm and enjoy!

Tips

  • For a healthier version, use whole-grain potato waffles and low-fat cheese.
  • Customize the toppings to suit your taste—try ham and pineapple, BBQ chicken, or even a veggie-loaded option.
  • These waffles are great for dipping in ranch or marinara sauce!
