📝 Ingredients (Makes 20–24 wontons)

Filling

  • 225 g (8 oz) cream cheese, softened

  • 1 cup crab meat (fresh, canned, or imitation), finely chopped

  • 2 tbsp Greek yogurt (optional for extra creaminess)

  • 1 garlic clove, minced

  • 1–2 green onions, finely chopped

  • 1 tbsp lemon juice

  • ½ tsp lemon zest

  • ½ tsp dried oregano

  • ½ tsp paprika

  • Salt & pepper to taste

Wrappers

  • 20–24 square wonton wrappers

For Frying

  • Neutral oil (vegetable, canola, sunflower)

Mediterranean Dipping Sauce

  • 3 tbsp Greek yogurt

  • 1 tbsp honey

  • 1 tbsp lemon juice

  • ½ tsp garlic powder

  • ½ tsp chili flakes

  • Pinch of salt


👩‍🍳 Instructions

1. Make the Filling

In a bowl, mix together:

  • Cream cheese

  • Crab meat

  • Greek yogurt

  • Garlic

  • Green onions

  • Lemon juice + zest

  • Oregano

  • Paprika

  • Salt + pepper

Mix until smooth and well combined.


2. Fill the Wontons

  1. Lay a wonton wrapper on a flat surface.

  2. Add 1 teaspoon of filling to the center.

  3. Moisten edges with water.

  4. Fold into a triangle or gather all 4 corners into a pouch shape.

  5. Press firmly to seal.


3. Fry

  1. Heat oil to 350°F (175°C).

  2. Fry wontons in small batches for 2–3 minutes until golden and crispy.

  3. Drain on paper towels.

Air Fryer option:

  • Spray with oil

  • Cook at 375°F (190°C) for 6–7 minutes, flipping halfway.


4. Make the Mediterranean Dip

Whisk together:

  • Greek yogurt

  • Honey

  • Lemon juice

  • Garlic powder

  • Chili flakes

  • Salt

Creamy, tangy, slightly sweet — perfect for the crispy wontons.


5. Serve

Serve the crispy Crab Rangoons warm with the Mediterranean dipping sauce.
