🍏 Mediterranean Cinnamon Roll–Apple Bake

Warm • Comforting • 5-minute prep • Sweet with Mediterranean brightness


📝 Ingredients (Serves 8)

Base

  • 2 cans refrigerated cinnamon rolls, quartered

  • 1 can apple pie filling

  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts or pecans

  • 1–2 tbsp olive oil (Mediterranean twist, optional)

  • 1 tsp cinnamon (optional extra)

  • 1/2 tsp cardamom or nutmeg (Mediterranean-style warm spice, optional)

  • Zest of 1 lemon or orange (Mediterranean brightness)

Topping (optional but delicious)

  • The icing packets from the cinnamon rolls

  • 1–2 tbsp honey

  • Extra chopped nuts

  • A sprinkle of sesame seeds (Mediterranean flair)


🍽️ Instructions

1. Prep the Dish

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).

  • Spray a 9×13 baking dish with nonstick spray or brush with olive oil.


2. Mix the Filling

In a large bowl, combine:

  • Quartered cinnamon roll pieces

  • Apple pie filling

  • Chopped walnuts/pecans

  • Olive oil (optional but adds richness)

  • Cinnamon, cardamom/nutmeg (optional)

  • Lemon/orange zest

Gently fold until everything is coated.


3. Transfer to Baking Dish

Pour the mixture into the prepared 9×13 dish and spread evenly.


4. Bake

Bake 35–40 minutes, or until:

  • Cinnamon rolls are cooked through

  • Top is golden and caramelized

  • Apple mixture bubbles around the edges

(If the top browns too quickly, cover lightly with foil.)


5. Finish

When warm out of the oven:

  • Drizzle with the icing packets

  • Add a drizzle of honey

  • Sprinkle extra nuts or sesame seeds

  • Optional: a pinch of cinnamon on top


🌿 Serving Suggestions

Serve with:

  • A dollop of Greek yogurt

  • Vanilla ice cream

  • Fresh berries

  • A drizzle of tahini + honey for a Mediterranean-style sweet topping
