🍏 Mediterranean Cinnamon Roll–Apple Bake

📝 Ingredients (Serves 8)
Base
2 cans refrigerated cinnamon rolls, quartered
1 can apple pie filling
1/2 cup chopped walnuts or pecans
1–2 tbsp olive oil (Mediterranean twist, optional)
1 tsp cinnamon (optional extra)
1/2 tsp cardamom or nutmeg (Mediterranean-style warm spice, optional)
Zest of 1 lemon or orange (Mediterranean brightness)
Topping (optional but delicious)
The icing packets from the cinnamon rolls
1–2 tbsp honey
Extra chopped nuts
A sprinkle of sesame seeds (Mediterranean flair)
🍽️ Instructions
1. Prep the Dish
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
Spray a 9×13 baking dish with nonstick spray or brush with olive oil.
2. Mix the Filling
In a large bowl, combine:
Quartered cinnamon roll pieces
Apple pie filling
Chopped walnuts/pecans
Olive oil (optional but adds richness)
Cinnamon, cardamom/nutmeg (optional)
Lemon/orange zest
Gently fold until everything is coated.
3. Transfer to Baking Dish
Pour the mixture into the prepared 9×13 dish and spread evenly.
4. Bake
Bake 35–40 minutes, or until:
Cinnamon rolls are cooked through
Top is golden and caramelized
Apple mixture bubbles around the edges
(If the top browns too quickly, cover lightly with foil.)
5. Finish
When warm out of the oven:
Drizzle with the icing packets
Add a drizzle of honey
Sprinkle extra nuts or sesame seeds
Optional: a pinch of cinnamon on top
