Tomato Basil Garlic Bread

🍞 Tomato Basil Garlic Bread (Mediterranean Style)

🛒 Ingredients

  • 1 loaf crusty bread or baguette, halved lengthwise

  • 3 tbsp extra-virgin olive oil

  • 3–4 garlic cloves, finely minced or grated

  • 1½ cups cherry tomatoes, finely chopped

  • Salt & black pepper, to taste

  • 1 tsp dried oregano

  • ½ tsp red chili flakes (optional)

  • ¼ cup fresh basil leaves, chopped

  • ½ cup shredded mozzarella or grated Parmesan (optional)


👩‍🍳 Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

  2. In a bowl, mix olive oil and garlic. Brush generously over the cut sides of the bread.

  3. In another bowl, combine tomatoes, salt, pepper, oregano, and chili flakes.

  4. Spoon tomato mixture evenly over the bread.

  5. Sprinkle with cheese if using.

  6. Bake for 12–15 minutes until edges are crisp and tomatoes are bubbly.

  7. Broil for 1–2 minutes for extra browning if desired.

  8. Remove from oven and immediately sprinkle with fresh basil.

  9. Slice and serve warm.
