🍞 No-Knead Mediterranean Bread
No Eggs • No Butter • Ultra Easy • Super Cheap
This rustic Mediterranean bread is crispy on the outside, soft and airy on the inside, and made with just 4 basic pantry ingredients. No kneading, no eggs, no butter—just mix, rest, and bake. Perfect for dipping in olive oil, serving with soups, or making sandwiches.
🛒 Ingredients (1 large loaf)
-
3 cups all-purpose flour
-
1½ tsp salt
-
1 tsp instant yeast
-
1½ cups warm water
-
1 tbsp olive oil (optional but very Mediterranean 😉)
👩🍳 Instructions
-
Mix
In a large bowl, mix flour, salt, and yeast. Pour in warm water (and olive oil if using). Stir with a spoon until a sticky dough forms. -
Rest (No Kneading!)
Cover the bowl and let the dough rest at room temperature for 2–3 hours (or overnight for deeper flavor). The dough will double in size and look bubbly. -
Shape
Lightly flour your hands and gently shape the dough into a round loaf. No punching down needed. -
Bake
Place on a parchment-lined baking tray. Bake at 220°C (430°F) for 30–35 minutes, until golden brown and hollow-sounding when tapped. -
Cool & Enjoy
Let cool for at least 10 minutes before slicing.

❓ Q & A
Q: Can I use whole wheat flour?
Yes! Replace up to 50% of the flour with whole wheat for a heartier loaf.
Q: Why is my dough sticky?
That’s normal—sticky dough = airy bread. Don’t add extra flour.
Q: Can I bake this in a pan or pot?
Absolutely. A loaf pan or covered pot (Dutch oven) works great and gives a crustier result.
Q: How long does it stay fresh?
2 days at room temperature, or freeze slices for up to 1 month.
Q: Can I add herbs or seeds?
Yes! Try rosemary, olives, sesame seeds, or sunflower seeds.
