🍫 Mediterranean Cottage Cheese Chocolate Mousse

Thick, silky, chocolatey — tastes like dessert, nourishes like a protein snack!


🟡 INGREDIENTS (serves 2–3)

Base Mousse

  • 1 cup cottage cheese (full-fat or low-fat)

  • 3 tbsp cocoa powder (unsweetened)

  • 2–3 tbsp honey, maple syrup, or blended dates

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

  • 1–2 tbsp milk (only if needed to blend)

Mediterranean Optional Add-Ins

Choose any:

  • 1 tbsp tahini (adds richness + Mediterranean flavor)

  • 1 tbsp olive oil (mild/light, gives silkier texture)

  • 1–2 Medjool dates (for sweetness instead of honey)

  • Pinch of cinnamon

  • Pinch of sea salt

Optional Toppings

  • Pistachios

  • Walnuts

  • Berries

  • Sesame seeds

  • Extra drizzle of honey

  • Shaved dark chocolate


🟢 INSTRUCTIONS

1. Blend

Add to a blender or food processor:

  • Cottage cheese

  • Cocoa

  • Honey (or dates)

  • Vanilla

  • Optional tahini or olive oil

Blend for 30–60 seconds until completely smooth.
Scrape down the sides and blend again — cottage cheese becomes silky.


2. Adjust Texture

  • Too thick? Add 1 tbsp milk.

  • Too thin? Add 1 tsp more cocoa.

Taste and adjust sweetness.


3. Chill

Transfer to small bowls and refrigerate 20–30 minutes.
(Chilling makes it firm like mousse.)


4. Add Mediterranean Toppings

Try:

  • Crushed pistachios

  • Walnut pieces

  • A drizzle of honey

  • Cinnamon dusting

  • A few berries

  • Sesame seeds or dark chocolate shavings
