Ingredients
- 2 sheets puff pastry, thawed
- 500 g (18 oz) cream cheese, softened
- ½ cup (100 g) granulated sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 tbsp sour cream or heavy cream (optional, for extra creaminess)
- 1 egg + 1 tbsp milk (for egg wash)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Grease or line a loaf pan (or 8-inch square pan) with parchment paper.
- Roll out one sheet of puff pastry and place it in the bottom and up the sides of the pan.
- In a bowl, beat the cream cheese until smooth. Add sugar, eggs, vanilla, and sour cream. Mix until creamy.
- Pour the filling into the pastry-lined pan.
- Cover with the second sheet of puff pastry and seal the edges.
- Brush the top with the egg wash.
- Bake for 45–55 minutes, or until the pastry is golden brown and the filling is set.
- Let cool completely, then refrigerate for at least 4 hours before slicing.
Tip: Dust with powdered sugar or serve with fresh berries for an extra-special touch.
