Cream Cheese Pie Recipe

 

Ingredients

  • 2 sheets puff pastry, thawed
  • 500 g (18 oz) cream cheese, softened
  • ½ cup (100 g) granulated sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 tbsp sour cream or heavy cream (optional, for extra creaminess)
  • 1 egg + 1 tbsp milk (for egg wash)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Grease or line a loaf pan (or 8-inch square pan) with parchment paper.
  3. Roll out one sheet of puff pastry and place it in the bottom and up the sides of the pan.
  4. In a bowl, beat the cream cheese until smooth. Add sugar, eggs, vanilla, and sour cream. Mix until creamy.
  5. Pour the filling into the pastry-lined pan.
  6. Cover with the second sheet of puff pastry and seal the edges.
  7. Brush the top with the egg wash.
  8. Bake for 45–55 minutes, or until the pastry is golden brown and the filling is set.
  9. Let cool completely, then refrigerate for at least 4 hours before slicing.

Tip: Dust with powdered sugar or serve with fresh berries for an extra-special touch.
