🥙 Mediterranean Chicken Gyros with Homemade Tzatziki

Chicken Marinade

Tzatziki Sauce

1 cup thick Greek yogurt

1 medium cucumber, grated
-
2 cloves garlic, finely grated

1 tbsp lemon juice
-
1½ tbsp extra-virgin olive oil

Salt to taste

1 tbsp fresh dill or mint, chopped (optional)
Gyro Wraps

4–6 pita breads
-
Sliced tomatoes

Sliced red onion

Shredded lettuce (optional)

🔪 Instructions
1. Marinate the Chicken

In a bowl, mix olive oil, yogurt, lemon juice, garlic, oregano, paprika, cumin, pepper, and salt.

Add chicken and coat well.

Cover and marinate at least 30 minutes (up to overnight for best flavor).
2. Make Tzatziki

Squeeze excess water from grated cucumber.

Mix cucumber with yogurt, garlic, lemon juice, olive oil, salt, and herbs.

3. Cook the Chicken

Heat a skillet or grill pan over medium-high heat.

4. Warm Pitas

Warm pita breads briefly in a dry pan or oven.
5. Assemble Gyros
