🌿 Mediterranean Creamy Asparagus Bake

Ingredients

20–25 asparagus spears, trimmed

2 tbsp olive oil or butter

2 tbsp flour

2 cups warm milk

½ cup grated Parmesan or mozzarella

½ cup extra mozzarella (for topping)

Salt & black pepper

½ tsp garlic powder (optional)

Pinch nutmeg (optional)

Fresh thyme or oregano
Instructions
1. Prepare the asparagus

Wash well, trim the tough ends.

Optional: Blanch 2 minutes in boiling water and place in ice water (keeps them bright green).
2. Make the creamy Mediterranean sauce

In a pot, heat the olive oil or butter.

Add flour and whisk for 1 minute to make a smooth paste.

Gradually add warm milk while whisking.

Cook until the sauce thickens (3–5 min).

Grated Parmesan

Garlic powder

Pinch nutmeg

The sauce should be silky and creamy.
3. Assemble
