1 large onion, chopped

4 medium potatoes, peeled and cut into cubes

2 celery stalks, chopped
1 cup frozen peas
2 tbsp tomato paste
2 tsp dried thyme
2 bay leaves
1 tsp salt (or to taste)
½ tsp black pepper (or to taste)
2 tbsp all-purpose flour (optional, for thickening)
